I don’t have much time to write but here are two things bugging me today:
(1) Is this the doofiest looking Bachelor ever? And are these the most annoying and crazy women on the Bachelor ever? Now look, I know I should probably just stop watching this nonsense; I did take a bit of a hiatus for a couple of seasons but for some reason decided to return to The Bachelor this season and I have to say that I just don’t get the appeal of this guy. First of all, what’s with that hair? It’s like a cross between Justin Beiber and Tony Danza from his “Who’s the Boss” days. Admittedly, I didn’t watch The Bachelorette when he was on so maybe he’s got some awesome personality or something that people love but so far, 2 episodes in, I ain’t seeing it. But the women on the show keep talking about how hot he is so maybe there’s something wrong with my eyes? And speaking of these women? Ugh, these women. For the most part, they’re awful, shallow, nasty and whacked out. Where do they find these women? Do they go to local courthouses to see who has had restraining orders filed against them and then seek those people out? (Bachelor producer: “Hey, so you can’t go within 50 feet of your ex so how about you come on our show and be a crazy stalker there? Plus, we’ll give you all the alcohol you can drink and sequester you with 20 other crazy women! Doesn’t that sound like a recipe for fun?) Ok, ok, I should just stop watching this show. I’m sorry but I appear to be powerless against the pull of train wreck reality tv. I’ll seek help, I promise.
(2) Beyonce and her baby are getting on my nerves already and that kid is only a couple of days old. Alright, it’s not the baby’s fault and I’m sure she’s cute as a button and all but I don’t get all the hoopla over Beyonce having a baby. Has she done something no other woman in the history of the world has done? Here’s what’s really bugging me though – the statement that she and Jay-Z released yesterday in which they say they’re happy, the kid is cute, blah blah whatever and “She was delivered naturally“. I’m sorry did I ask you whether that baby was pushed out of your vagina? And by telling the world that you did, in fact, push that baby out of your vagina does that make you better than the rest of us that didn’t or couldn’t do so? Maybe I’m oversensitive because I really wanted and expected to have a drug-free, vaginal delivery and instead ended up with an emergency c-section but can we all just get past the idea that having a vaginal birth somehow makes you better? And can we please, please stop calling it a “natural” birth therefore implying that my kid came into this world in some kind of unnatural way? We all do what we need to do to deliver our babies safely and that’s all that really matters, isn’t it?
Feel free to let me know if you disagree with either of my rants. I’m sure many of you have very different opinions on both subjects!
